Scent Blazer Sponsors 2012 Yellowtail Shootout
San Diego, California - June 28th-30th
Fierce winds and a slow economy did not curb the action, fun and success of the 2012 Yellowtail shootout. The 6th Annual Bloodydecks tournament was held at the harbor in Dana Landing of San Diego, California. This competition brought 47 teams in from all around United States with a total of 164 anglers, all with high hopes to catch the largest tuna and take home the hefty cash prize. Because the wind kicked up massively on the morning of the competition, the anglers who left the Wednesday night before the competition started got a huge jumpstart and avoided a 7-hour ride out to San Clemente Island. Rumors about an influx of Yellowtail around the island proved to be true at the scales becuase the 3 heaviest fish were caught near the perimeter of the island. Bloodydecks were very generous with their prizes. On the first morning of the competition, the team Mad Lamb were the first to arrive to Dana Landing Fuel Dock with a fish, which granted them a $1500 cash card from Dana Landing. They also won the $500 jackpot, totalling their winnings to $4,200. $30,000 was up for grabs by the top 3 winners at this tournament, but no team who participated left empty handed. All participants attended the barbeque cook-off and received goody bags with several fishing gear items. The raffle prize winners were among the luckiest of fishermen because they took home the most advanced lure and teasers provided by Scent Blazer.

Team On the Iron was also in the $100 dollar and $300 dollar jackpots and took home an additional $5,580 dollars.

At the conclusion of the 2012 Yellowtail shootout, the participants gathered to enjoy delicious barbequed food, raffle prizes, and massive cash awards to the top anglers. During the award ceremony many of the participants spent time at the Scent Blazer tent discussing the newest innovation in salt-water lures. Given that Scent Blazer’s debut is fairly recent, many anglers were unfamiliar with the technology, yet after a brief explanation, all anglers were eager to receive their own lure and begin fishing with the Scent Blazer advantage.
The event attracted fishermen of all sorts, even little ferocious pups!
Raffle prize winners were surprised and thrilled to receive their own Scent Blazer fishing gear, but most of all they were pleased to join the group of fishermen who use the most cutting edge lure and teaser technology on the market.
